Thanks to a great New Year's campaign in 2023 by the Susanne Pauli dog school in Fintel, we were able to donate €320 and food and toys to the homeless shelter for the dogs. We are very happy about it!

And we care about ALL animals. That's why we were so happy about the delicious vegetarian food at the dog school event yesterday. We have already collected a lot of food and material donations for our "Homeless in Hamburg" dogs campaign and have been able to hand them over to the "Angels in the Streets" association in Hamburg, which makes us very happy.

Cat Project

Information about our cat project in the Lüneburg Heath can be found >>>here<<

This project is about farm cats, among other things, which multiply unchecked if... we don't catch them, have them neutered and return them to the place where they actually live. But then the female cats won't have any more babies... that's important to keep the population under control. Although neutering is compulsory, most farmers don't really care!

We can also have cows

The first calf that our colleague Sandra took in was "set aside" to die because she was weak. This is the reality of calves from dairy cows.

Sandra noticed the calf - a little girl - and named her Emmi and raised her with a bottle. There were several complications; little Emmi suffered from severe diarrhea, developed a high fever and euthanasia seemed inevitable.

Sandra never gives up and put Emmi with the old stallion Fouquet. She continued to receive medication, but the enthusiastic attention of her new father seemed to do her a lot of good and Emmi survived. Today she is a favorite of everyone, especially the children. She lets herself be groomed, goes for walks, plays with other cows, occasionally wears a western saddle and goes out into the countryside with riders.Last autumn the young ox Ferdinand was taken in. He is tame and affectionate, but was soon to be slaughtered. He lives with Emmi. The third in the group is Jade, a small, delicate cow, the survivor of a twin birth. A young woman looked after the little cow for a long time. Then the farmer gave her an ultimatum because she was unfit for breeding and could not have calves. Thanks to donations we were able to save her from the final journey and she is now the third in the group of rescued cows.
