In January 2016, we became aware of the Spanish rescue center in Torrox-Costa through a call for donations that was published on Facebook - a dog (*Curro*) was found with a serious injury.
The operator of the rescue center was unable to cover the costs of the operation and veterinary care. She - Helgard Less - finances her life and that of the animals stranded in her care from her small pension. It is not possible to make big leaps with her income, and it is certainly not possible to cover the costs of operations in the mid-four-figure range.
Many lovely people came together through the Facebook campaign and in the end all costs were paid. *Curro* now lives in Ratzeburg with his new family and his friend *Lenni*
In May 2016 we were there to get an idea of Helgard Less, the rescue center and everything around it. Coincidentally, Costa Nachrichten (a weekly newspaper about the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Costa Calida) had reported on Helgard Less, among other things - link at the bottom of the page.
After our return, our team decided to support the rescue center as best we could and we would be delighted if you, dear readers, would help us as well.
We would like to thank you very much in advance!
